Structural Engineer

Job description / Role

Design review and site supervision activities related to water reservoir, pump stations, treatment plants, etc structure works. The Engineer for this position should be a graduate Structural Engineering professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices with previous experience (preferably in Middle East) on water/wastewater project is required. Strong command & exposure to design works is required.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently review design and shop drawings,
- Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs..
- Answer technical queries,
- Site inspection and approval of works done by the contractor,
- Guide site teams, advise/propose corrective actions for engineering problems and liaise with the Client and contractors as required or advised.
- Ensure execution of works in accordance with design & specifications and guide the field supervision staff.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in day today project requirements with in his discipline
- Contribute to complete the project to the full satisfaction of the client. .
- Responsible for achieving quality in construction.
- Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

- Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
- 10 years in increasingly responsible positions
- Must include periods with large consultancy practice.
- Knowledge of computer skills (CAD and STAAD programs).
- Ability to implement HSE& Quality Management System on projects effectively
- Working overseas or in the region essential.
- Good spoken and written English is essential.
- GCC driver licence would be an added advantage.
