Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose: Consult to the Departmental leadership to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to deliver sustainable, year-on-year improvements in Departmental profit through improved supply practices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with the departmental leadership to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to deliver sustainable, year-on-year improvements in departmental profit.
- Apply industry knowledge and well -developed leadership skills to drive long-term initiatives to develop the capabilities of key Supply Chain members to secure long-term, sustainable, high-value supply.
- Collect, analyse and report sourcing and supply data to inform leadership decision-making, to reinforce the Supply Chain Business.
- Take a leadership role in policy development to ensure Sohar Aluminium optimizes its purchasing power and changing operational needs are met.
- Execute Company and departmental strategy.
- Lead and motivate the Supply Chain team to deliver on the departmental goals.
- Develop the team to continuously deliver an improvement in capability and performance.
- Lead and motivate the teams to achieve excellence in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) performance.

Requirements

- Bachelor in Business, Engineering or Technical with 8 years relevant experience and 5 years in a leadership position.
OR
- Diploma in Business, Engineering or Technical with 10 years relevant experience and 5 years in a leadership position.
- Must have a well-developed leadership, negotiation, project management and change management.
- Must have knowledge of the following:
- The practices of strategic sourcing and commodity management.
- Procedures for bid committees.
- Best practices in tendering and supplier management.
- Storage and distribution from a procurement perspective.
- Contracts management and the management of service level agreements throughout their lifecycle.
- Finance skills for procurement professional.

Sohar Aluminium was formed in September 2004 to undertake a landmark Greenfield aluminium smelter project in the Sultanate of Oman and is jointly owned by Oman Oil Company, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC - TAQA and Rio Tinto.

By implementing decades of industry insight in its design, specification and construction Sohar Aluminium has been created to ensure efficiency, environmental protection and the utmost safety of its workforce. The smelter has an annual production capacity of 375,000 tonnes of high quality Aluminium.
