Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Leading a team of Sr. Engineer / Engineer / Supervisor / Senior Technicians and Technicians, within Instrument Maintenance Department, under Maintenance function.
- Responsible for maintenance of Instrumentation and control systems, involving preventive (PM), corrective (CM), predictive (PdM), brake down (BD) and shutdown / Turnaround maintenance (TA).
- Accountable for maintaining the availability of Instrumentation within the area of responsibility and striving to exceed agreed KPI.
- Optimizing the PM to reduce maintenance cost and improving the reliability of the instrumentation.
- Ensuring compliance to maintenance requirements of safety systems, HSE policy and procedures.
- Working closely and supporting the team in troubleshooting and rectification of mal-functions / failures. Identifying the root cause are taking up short and long term corrective actions, aiming at improving the reliability.
- Identification of spares and planning stocking of spares to ensure availability of all critical spares. Identifying the inter-changeability and optimizing the inventory.
- Map the existing capabilities among the team mates, identify the gaps and plan capability development planning and training. Identify / develop suitable training programs, preferably with in-house capabilities or external sources. Prioritize the training needs against budget provisions in in liaison with respective maintenance manager.
- Coordination with operations, other maintenance and inspection teams in developing job plans and ensuring flawless execution of jobs.
- Identifying bad actors, reliability improvement initiatives, developing projects and action plans and support implementation of the same in liaison with concerned departments.
- Identifying items becoming obsolete or having maintainability issues, developing solutions and appropriate action plans and support implementation of the same in liaison with concerned departments.
- Developing procedures, work instructions, checklists etc as appropriate and support maintaining and improving the compliance to ISO and other quality systems.
- Ensuring and improvising team performance exceeding KPI requirements.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Electronics.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical industry, which shall include following:
- Minimum 08 years of experience in maintenance function.
- Minimum of 06 years of experience in leadership role.

Technical Skills:
- High level of technical skills on control systems like DCS, ESD, FGS, PLC systems, Governing systems, integrated control systems for rotating machinery are essential.
- Shall have a fair knowledge / understanding of maintenance of other disciplines within maintenance
- High level of technical skills and experience on process analysers, fire & gas systems will be an advantage.
- Basic PC skills are essential.
- Strong grasp of Quality and Safety standards and procedures.

Should be proficient with maintenance of equipment in the Instrumentation discipline like the following:
- HART and FF field instruments
- Various types and makes of control valves, hydraulic actuators and servo valves etc.
- Anti-surge and performance control systems
- Machine monitoring and protection systems
- Various types of flow meters like turbine, ultrasonic, coriollis, thermal mass flow etc.
- Flow metring systems
- Batch control systems and related instruments
- Loading systems
