Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the nature and sources of law, the law of tort, law of contract, the insurance contract and their application in the local and overseas.
- Understands and applies rules relating to taxes, levies and policy issuance, Data Protection Act, Money Laundering, Client Monies and Terms of Business Agreement (TOBA).
- Ensures supplementary work procedures are in place and adhered to within the division.
- Ensures appropriate workflow controls for monitoring work in progress and the timely completion of processes in accordance with the Operating Procedures Manual (OPM) and any technical/policy requirements is in place.
- Produces accurate and timely management information as required.
- Understanding and application of fundamental legal and regulatory policy in relation to the insurance contract.
- Advise on the legal requirements of the client as applicable to insurance.
- Demonstrates awareness of the changes and development in regulation and the impact these have on the business both local and overseas.
- Demonstrates a good understanding of regulatory requirements and the impact these have on the business.
- Monitoring the Financial Security of Insurance / Reinsurance companies.
- Identifies and mitigates conflicts of interest.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of Company’s systems and processes to fulfill role.
- Ensures that all KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) meet and exceed the minimum standards.
- Adheres to the contents of the Operating Procedures Manual (OPM) and the Company’s overall internal procedures and policies.
- Nil E&Os.
- Performs such other duties as may be required from time to time.

Requirements

- 10 years of experience.
- University degree is a must plus holder of professional qualifications e.g. CII or Dip CII.
- Good command in English.
- Computer literate.
- Preferably bilingual.
- Actively seeks to understand the issues and concerns of the client and anticipates their needs s and requirements. Understands the market win which the client operates.
- Is able to respond effectively to client requirements and acquires feedback from client.
- Demonstrates the ability to establish effective working relationships both internally and externally.
- Develops and enhances relationships both internally and externally.
- Is able to communicate at all levels.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the insurance market, the basic insurance principles and the ability to apply them in the day to day activities.
- Able to provide a good explanation to clients.
- Ability to manage and allocate workloads and resources within the broking operation.
- Utilizes other skills to support the team in managing the business process and delivering effective client service.
- Coordinates the work of Brokers/ Agent Executives to insure the needs of the clients are being met.
- Maximize the selling opportunities.
- Effectively plans and organizes workload in order to meet business timescales.
- Demonstrates an effective approach to multi tasking and is able to meet timescale.
- Demonstrates the ability to recognize personal development needs and take responsibility for continuous learning.
- Recognizes the need to maintain effective learning and development.
- Identifies appropriate sources of learning and plan own activity accordingly.
- Is able to communicate effectively the organizational strategic objectives and business targets.
- Manages and allocates workloads and resources.
- Manages, supervises and allocates workloads for direct reports.
- The ability to gather and analyze information.
- Report writing skills.
