Analyst/Associate – Financial Advisory

Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Provide support for investment banking mandates including ECM, M&A and corporate finance for clients in the public and private sector. Actively contribute to all phases of the transaction life cycle from deal origination to transaction structuring and ultimate execution.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth financial and operational analysis for clients in different sectors
- Review and assess client’s business plans by verifying underlying assumptions and performing scenario analysis and make - strategic recommendations for maximizing shareholders’ return
- Perform detailed project cash flow analysis, assess project returns and make value enhancing recommendations
- Conduct macroeconomic, market and industry research and perform benchmark analysis
- Develop robust financial models in line with the client’s strategic objectives and constraints
- Perform business valuation utilizing different techniques
- Review and critically evaluate third party financial models and identify areas for value maximization
- Liaise with key stakeholders including third party advisors, auditors, shariah, for conducting business valuation and financial and legal due diligence
- Assist in transaction/ deal structuring
- Draft transaction documents including prospectus, investor presentations and marketing materials
- Develop and monitor project timelines and provide regular updates on the progress of existing deals and deal pipeline
- Prepare client presentations as well as detailed pitch books for deal origination and help achieve the team’s revenue targets Respond to RFPs

COMPLIANCE
- Ensure strict adherence to internal policies and procedures and compliance matters
- Maintain client/deal files and manage document retention as per internal guidelines
- Assist in performing KYC procedures and maintain necessary KYC documents for the clients

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
- Attend relevant training sessions for improving workflow efficiency and effectiveness
- Attend required courses held by QCB, QFC, QFMA etc.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field
- MBA, Masters in Finance and/or Accounting, CFA, CA or equivalent from a well-reputed institution
- 4-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, research in the financial, real estate, consumer, oil & gas and other sectors
- Experience in business valuation, corporate restructuring and financial transactions involving raising, investing and optimizing capital
- Strong analytical (qualitative and quantitative) skills and financial modeling skills
- Proficient in MS office (Excel, PowerPoint,Word, Outlook)
- Proficient in Bloomberg/ Thomson Reuters
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt, multi-task and meet rigorous timelines work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and high level of achievement motivation

Preference for candidates fluent in Arabic language.
