Assistant Accountant

Job description / Role

Objectives:
- The Assistant Accountant will be managing personal accounts and investment portfolios.

Main responsibilities:
- Record investment activities, including conducting audits, preparing valuation materials, managing aspects related to general ledger accounting
- Designing and controlling systems of records, auditing books, and preparing financial statements
- Providing tax advice and preparing tax returns when necessary including advising on when to file to avoid penalties
- Handle personal bookkeeping such as recording transactions as they occur
- Review financial records for accuracy, efficiency and compliance with current laws
- Prepare financial statements and advise on where money may be saved or revenue increased

Requirements

University Qualifications:
- BSc Accounting and Finance or similar field

Other certifications obtained:
- ACCA, CIMA or CPA

Nature and length of previous experience:
- 3-5 years experience as an Accounts Assistant

Specialist knowledge:
- Peach Tree / Sage 50
- Accounting principles and practices
- IT Proficiency

Language Fluency:
