Within the mission, vision, and values of HMC, the Assistant Head of Warehouse is responsible for supervising the functions of Warehouse of Materials Management and for supporting efficient patient care by ensuring that hospital units and other external users are adequately supplied with supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities: Staff is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the following area:
- Pharmacy
- General Supplies
- Food
- Material Control
- Operations

Specific attention to the following:
- Prioritizing daily work assignments
- Answering questions from staff.
- Updating Assistant Director of Warehouse as issues arise
- Cycle counts are completed according to approved schedule
- Inventory system is accurate and up to date
- Items with minimal usage are reviewed on a quarterly basis
- System par level maximum and minimum levels are reviewed on a quarterly basis
- Coordinates Internal audit activities in the Warehouse (e.g. random audits)
- Provides functional guidance regarding warehouse activities outside the department
- Works with Purchasing to maintain adequate levels of supplies to meet patient care demands
- Ensures work is completed according to appropriate and procedures
- Responsible for the maintenance of proper records.

MANAGEMENT:
- Assumes responsibility for the function/area in the absence of the Director of Materials Management
- Provides a safe working environment for staff; notify the Director of Materials Management and any safety concerns.
- Participate son committees, as requested (e.g. Value Analysis Committee, Quality Management)

GENERAL:
- Maintains HMC and department competencies by attending department meeting, in services, and annual updates.
- Maintains understanding of HMC and policies and other procedures
- Attends required safety programs, infection control programs and other required trainings.
- Assists in the orientation of new personnel
- Participates in monthly in service training and staff meeting 6. Performs other duties and responsibilities, as requested, in a pleasant manner.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrates a through and complete knowledge of healthcare Warehouse Management practices and methodologies.
- Communicates and cooperates with other personnel to maintain effective relationships both inside the department and across departments.
- Able to work efficiently, independently, and in a team, with minimal direction from Director of Materials Management.
- Able to perform competently in a new or emergency situation.
- Understands and utilizes information technology for MM dept. as appropriate.
- Demonstrates ability for problem solving.
- Plans and utilizes time efficiently to complete duties.
- Demonstrates professional behavior and treats staff with respect and courtesy.
- Demonstrates flexibility and able to handle change productively.
- English Language-Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Able to teach staff regarding necessary skill sets.

Requirements

- High School plus 15 years progressive experience in Warehouse operation
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration plus 3 years progressive experience in Warehouse operation·
- Minimum Experience: High School Graduate: 15 years progressive experience in Warehouse operations
- Preferred Experience: Bachelor of Business: 3 years

Language Skills: English-Intermediate; Arabic-Beneficial
Computer Skills: Intermediate
