Our client, a well-respected public works authority for the country of Qatar, is looking to immediately recruit a Building Information Modelling Manager (BIM Specialist) to participate in the growth and development of their business. With the practical completion of Qatar’s comprehensive national master plan and the award of FIFA2022, the country is currently embarking on a major infrastructure construction campaign which will see project design and construction activity as well as job opportunities continue to grow for years to come.

Reporting to the Corporate Planning Director and IT Manager, your responsibilities in this role will include to:
- Chair the firm’s BIM Committee.
- Develop, lead and assist project teams in BIM project set up.
- Develop and deliver, in conjunction with the firm’s strategic Program Management Companies, structured BIM models for programs/projects within the company.
- Implement BIM training modules for key staff and maintain training courseware.
- Drive/Participate in the process of developing BIM standards for projects across the company.
- Provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally, and teams are using design standards appropriately.
- Ensure that the design standards align with the firm’s CAD-BIM strategy and link appropriately with the wider business.
- Develop procedures to facilitate sharing of content and knowledge throughout the firm.
- Managing key stakeholder interfaces which will include all departments within the organization and the strategic Program Management Companies as well as other government departments.
- Establish project controls and reporting and ensure timely delivery of projects to time, cost and quality in the areas of overarching BIM setup.
- Ensure resources are appropriate to meet current and future commitments and to maximize opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or comparable with a minimum of Over all experience should be 15 years in design, engineering and construction.
• Possess an in-depth working knowledge of current BIM technology (Autodesk).
• Be a self-starter and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in preparation of 3D BIM Models
• Expertise in content creation
• Good understanding of integration from/to BIM with other applications.
• Experience in BIM and associated software skills supporting the automation.
• BIM experience with 3D rendering and visualization, BOQ , Cost estimation, Analysis and simulations.
• Managing key stakeholder’s vendors, PMC's, other government entities.
• Preferably Bilingual (Arabic/English)
• Exposure to a national or international planning organization or government agency highly regarded
