Job description / Role

CAD Technician (Roads/Highways) - Doha, Qatar

Perform as a member of the Ashghal Asset Affairs Roads Operations and Maintenance Department.

Have the following Personal Qualities:
- Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment;
- Sound written and verbal communication skills in English Language together with interpersonal skills;
- Ability to maintain a pro-active and organized approach;
- Ability to interpreted requirements not just copy draughting and;
- Good attention to detail, right first time approach, coupled with the ability to focus on the wider objectives.

The principal function of this position is:
- Assist the design team with draughting capability in order to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner
- Draughting new designs and preparation of As Built drawing
- Occasional site visits to record details and as built elements
- Assist with document preparation

The priorities of this role include:
- Drawing preparation and detailing
- Data collection, analysis and presentation of results
- Using own initiative and helping to co-ordinate work
- Helping achieve compliance with internal and external quality systems

The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
- A good working knowledge of Autocad 2013
- Proficient in 2-D CAD essential, 3-D desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with CAD draughting techniques
- An ability to communicate well with other disciplines, designers and client staff.
- Willingness to learn
- Works well under pressure
- Team member

Requirements

- A relevant technical qualification
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in preparing CAD drawings for highway, infrastructure and road improvement projects.
- Possess the ability to read working drawings and specifications
- Ability to graphically translate verbal and visual instructions into working drawings
- Knowledge in drawing compositions using external references and other advanced AutoCAD drafting techniques

A Visa will be required to work in Qatar, or if already in Qatar an NOC will be required.
