Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose
• Assist and support catering activities across the company at multiple work locations/facilities including all projects ensuring alignment with Facilities Management objectives.

Key Job Accountabilities - I
• Assist the Catering Supervisor with Overseeing and Inspecting catering services including food preparation area, bakery, mess halls, quality, and quantity of food to ensure adequate standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and taste to ensure compliance with contractual provisions and company hygiene standards and maintain all Internal quality check record or documents as per the catering services procedure.
• Assist supervisor in the preparation of specifications for catering contracts, covering technical specifications and hygiene standards, and in the selection of the most suitable contractors, based on past performance and comparison and other bidders.
• Ensure that appropriate standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained, including participating with the supervisor in preparing monthly cyclical menus, and ensuring that it meets needs of different nationalities, medical fitness, and standards of cleanliness of food handlers, through medical report review.
• Perform hygiene inspection for all catering preparation areas and mess halls, including reviewing types of insecticides, pest and rodent controls used by contractors, ensuring the proper application of such controls, and suggesting, in conjunction with Site Hygiene Inspector, the use of the appropriate type of insecticide.
• Ensure adequate garbage isolation, coverage, and disposal.
• Identify information processing problems and escalate to management where applicable to remedy.

Key Job Accountabilities - II
• Ensure the proper functioning of catering cold stores, includes continuously inspecting the stores and deliveries, checking refrigeration systems and reporting malfunctions to supervisor, and initiating and following up on maintenance and repairs as applicable.
• Check the validity of expiry date for both perishables and other foodstuffs, directing the disposal of damaged or outdated supplies, and ensure the taking and maintenance of food samples as required.
• Conduct detailed special investigations into complaints about the quality of food, and reports findings and recommendations to supervisor for corrective action.
• Carry out other similar or related duties such as, presenting Company position at weekly meetings with the contractor's supervisor, organizing catering services for special occasions, VIP visitors and parties as directed by supervisor, and prepares routine and special reports.
• Assist and support the Permit to Work activity related to Catering related area of operation/facilities.

Requirements

Qualifications
• Completion of Secondary School Education (12 years).

Knowledge and/or Experience - I
• 5 years’ experience in maintenance environment.

Technical and Business Skills - I
• Good command of written and spoken English. Good Computer Skills.
