Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Chief Investment Officer will be responsible for a large size equity fund to be managed by the company. The role will also include management of discretionary portfolios of high net worth individuals and managing the collective funds of the company.

Responsibility:
- As a key member of the investment committee, formulate, plan, develop and implement the firm’s equity portfolio strategy in conjunction with the CEO and the Board of Directors vision.
- Execute against formulated investment strategy by actively analyzing the GCC equity market.
- Monitor investment performance including compliance and responsibility for clients and the regulator (QFC).
- Hire and supervise an origination and portfolio management team members as portfolio grows.
- Report at regular intervals to the CEO and Board of Directors.

The client is a boutique investment management firm that focuses on wealth and investment management for high net worth individuals and clients in Middle East. The company is in the process of getting registered with the Qatar Financial Center.

The Activities of the company primarily includes:
- Managing discretionary portfolios of high net worth individuals
- Managing company investments
- Launching equity funds for selected high net worth individuals.

Requirements

- 13- 25 years of experience in Fund management, Mutual fund and Investment Banking.
- Experience in working under a regulatory environment.
- Candidate will ideally come from Middle East bank or large size investment management or Wealth management firm.
- CFA and/or MBA in finance from a top-tier program.
- Formal portfolio management training program a plus
- GCC experience is must and should have good knowledge in handling investment portfolios, mutual funds and the recent experience of managing at least $200-$500 million middle-east equity portfolio
- 10+ years of portfolio management including structuring, executing, and guiding investment activities for financial sponsors and corporate clients.
- Strong knowledge of macroeconomics factors which helps in understanding the fundamentals of a sector/region& the economy.
- Ability to identify value investment opportunities with a long term view on wealth creation.
- Ability to design investment portfolio based on investors objective and risk & return profile.
- Capable of identifying entry/ exit opportunities based on technical analysis
- Understand investment risk and ability to benchmark portfolio performance based on risk weighted returns.
- Strong portfolio structuring and Quantitative analysis skills
- Demonstrated exceptional business skills including building sustainable client relationship, banking and broker relationship, etc.
- Strong communication skill to facilitate presentation of complex situations and risks to investment committee and clients.
- Flexibility to meet changing needs and priorities
