Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The primary responsibility of the role is to be a business partner to the Infrastructure Business, primarily Contract 2, within the Qatar business and support the Finance Director / Financial Controller where required. In addition the role will also manage Divisional business reporting, including Business Unit profitability reports and analysis and productivity analysis and forecasting.

You will be a key partner to the business, providing advice or where they have a Finance related issue. You will play an essential part in the financial management from project level, business level through to budget preparation, strategic planning and business process support.

Finance in the Middle East is intrinsically connected with the operating heart of the business and as such, this role will be expected to provide a robust financial management service incorporating trend analysis and management information.

Other responsibilities will include assisting the Financial Controller and Project Director with month end and year end and achieving a state of continuous process improvement within the Finance function:
- Business / efficiency improvements
- Monthly and quarterly reporting of performance
- Annual and quarterly budgets and reforecasts
- Monitoring of compliance to Group business policy and procedures
- Business improvement initiatives such as developing a robust bid/tender spreadsheet template,
- Performance of projects and update Financial Dashboard
- Payment Applications and Cost Reporting

Requirements

- Graduate, qualified with 5 – 7 years operational finance experience within a progressive & modern business.
- Ideally an Arabic speaker
- Construction or engineering services business experience will be highly beneficial
- Commercially minded finance professional with experience of applying financial disciplines at a competitive organisation.
- A good technical understanding of finance systems and control is desirable.
- Strong communication and presentational skills
- Excellent excel and PowerPoint skills, including data manipulation, charting, analysis and simplification
- Will be culturally aware and able to work with a diverse team, with a high level of integrity.
- Capable of intelligent debate and questioning his or her colleagues without being abrasive – able to communicate complexity clearly. Innovative, commercial disciplined and accurate.
- Proactive in working with Project Managers and Design Managers to ascertain finance and cost data for reporting and invoicing purposes.
