Our client are one of the worlds largest, most recognised and respected Consultancies, that provide services across the whole built environment and project life cycle. With a professional headcount over 15,000 personnel operating in over 60 countries, our client have delivered some of the most recognised projects.

Our client have been managing projects in the middle east for over 50 years, their office in Doha - Qatar has been awarded some of the most prestigious multi billion dollar projects in the country. The average project is worth in excess of 1BN dollar, with a life line of over 5 years - projects are within the construction, rail and heavy civils/infrastructure sector.

Our client are providing Project Management and Cost Management services on their assigned schemes.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager for their Doha Qatar Office. The initial project will be managing a number of stations on the Qatar Metro/ Rail scheme.

Duties will include:
- Prepare project budget and subsequent cost estimates and cost management plans.
- Coordinate with Project Manager and Cost Consultants to establish client requirements, conduct feasibility studies, past estimation reviews and cost estimations.
- Support tendering including bills of quantities, bids evaluation and allocating work to contractors and sub-contractors.
- Coordinate with Project Manager to compile, track and monitor periodic cost reports, cost trend reports and variance reports.
- Prepare cost-performance reports and maintain standard unit price costs based on actual performance.
- Provide advice to client on contractual claims.
- Conduct regular follow up with cost and value consultants and contractors on QS aspects.
- Set up Quantity Surveyors / Cost Control Engineers team onsite with the help of Project Manager.
- Manage and control QS team / Cost Control Engineers to ensure timely and effective monitoring of project cost.
- Provide leadership and management of Commercial Team on the Project;
- Integrate and manage cost and contract elements of the works;
- Develop, implement and manage relevant contract, claims management control and dispute resolution procedures;
- Regularly review and propose updates to the relevant sections of the Project Management Plan and related procedures;
- Provide commercial and contractual reports and advice to Client;
- Provide input into risk management process and define risk budgets;
- Assist in preparation of regular project reports.

Requirements

- A Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- At least 15 years experience
- Worked for a leading project management consultancy PQS firm or on the client side
- Delivered large scale Rail - Metro or Infrastructure sector
- Be currently working as a Contracts Manager - Senior Quantity Surveyor - Contracts Administrator or Cost Manager
