Construction Manager

Job description / Role

Natural Resources are urgently seeking to recruit Construction Manager (Mechanical) for a Hospital project based in Qatar with the following experience

Minimum 15 years’ experience
Permanent
Start Date: Immediate
Reports to: Project Manager MEP

Core Responsibility:
- Management of Trade Contractors and directly performed Mechanical works
- Manage and coordinate day to day activities associated with the Mechanical Installation
- Schedule Assist with the preparation and development of the construction schedule.
- Monitor the works incompliance with the schedule and develop micro schedules to achieve project milestones.
- Monitor trade contractors performance and instigate corrective actions as maybe required to meet project targets
- Chair daily progress meeting with Sub trades and follow staff to agree progress and targets

Quality control:
- Understand and implement the Inspection, testing and sign off process for the project

Health and Safety:
- The safety of our workforce, staff and all parties associated with the project is a key objective.
- The role holder will ensure that works are planned, coordinated and carried out in a safe manner

Requirements

This is a project based position which requires a confident self-starter with the ability to lead a direct team and Trade Contractors. Solution driven individual with the ability to resolve site operational and technical issues.

Previous experience on the construction and completion of healthcare projects or complex public buildings is essential to the role.

- Experience in constructing and completing MEP installations on Healthcare projects
- Create and maintain a collaborative culture of Health and Safety at all levels of the management structure.
- Build and lead an open and collaborative team including Trade Contractors and the workforce
- Proactive ability to investigate and assist in the resolution of technical issues
- Build a Professional relationship with the Client and his team
- Influence others through strong Communication skills
- Proactive ability to Plan the works, Labour resource and materials
- Contractual awareness. Understand and comply with contractual roles and responsibilities.
- Strive to reduce waste through the efficient operation of the construction process
