Construction Manager

Job description / Role

Our client a leading main contractor in Qatar specializing in roads, bridges and highways projects is looking to hire a Construction Manager and Project Manager for their newly awarded roads / highway project in Qatar.

Job description / Role:
• Supervise construction activities and manage all services in relation to construction works, such as excavation, dredging, land reclamation, breakwaters, berths, mechanical works, electrical works, utilities, surveying and surveillance equipment, civil constructions and logistics buildings.
• Review potential construction risks defined by the Consultants and set out a plan to manage those risks. Advise on and determine other potential risks according to new developments.
• Supervise Consultants management for Contractors’ activities.
• Review Consultant’s correspondence to Contractors, provide recommendation for approval.
• Maintain continuous presence at work site, prepare reports on work progress, Consultants’ and Contractors’ performance according to timelines and required work quality.

Requirements

Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Civil or any other related degree. A Master degree is preferred.
• 10 to 20 years hands on experiences in Highways, Roads & Bridges and Water Transmission Pipeline Projects.
• At least 5 years as Construction Manager.
• Experience in GCC countries is preferred.
• International or GCC experienced is desirable.

Skills:
• Effective interpersonal, communication, written, and typing skills.
• Strong English language skills and Arabic language is an added advantage.
• Advanced level of technical proficiency and computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Management)
