Construction Manager - High Rise Towers, Qatar

Our client is a regional property development firm with MENA regional development operations and they seek to appoint two Construction Managers for short term contracts between 3-6 months to manage the MEP and fit-out works for a major high rise tower in Doha. The firm is constructing multiple towers with the overall project valued at USD3B and one of the towers is at the close out and handover phase.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the proven performer we seek for this role will be responsible for the following:
- Oversees the day-to-day construction activities
- Monitor the operations of all contractors and ensure all contractors are coordinating at the site level for MEP elements specifically
- Review, monitor and update the weekly submittal schedule report
- Review the accuracy of all contractors daily, weekly and monthly reporting
- Monitor construction costs
- Ensure contract provisions are being met and keep all parties informed
- Monitor site logistics arrangements; site security operations; delivery and storage of equipment and materials on site
- Assist the HSE staff to enforce environmental, health and safety standards at all times
- Proactively intervene to prevent delay and disruption; provide solutions to site coordination issues; monitor and record delays on deliverables from consultant and contractors
- Monitor the performance of the supervision consultant, and the compliance of contractors with approved method statements
- Expedite issues of NOCs and other permits and licenses
- Maintain log of all contractors major equipment on site
- Participate in the prequalification and selection of contractors

Requirements

- Degree qualification in Construction / Engineering / Architecture or comparable.
- 10+ years' experience with at least 7 years' experience on major commercial projects. Fit-out and MEP for High rise towers experience is essential.
- Hands on trade and contracting background will be advantageous.
- Must be able to drive projects for performance results and display proven leadership abilities.
- Major project experience essential (>USD100mill) required.
- Candidates with expatriate experience, ideally in the Middle East, will be viewed favorably.
