We are leading the development of the region's first academic health system and we are committed to building a legacy of healthcare expertise in Qatar. We collaborate with partners who are key experts in Qatar and beyond, including Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and Partners Healthcare, Boston.

We are also the first hospital system in the Middle East to achieve institutional accreditation from the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education - International (ACGME-I), which demonstrates excellence in the way medical graduates are trained through residency, internship and fellowship programs

We are looking to appoint full time Consultants to join our Institute of Neuroscience.

The Neuroscience Institute provides a framework to apply the latest developments in neuroscience to the study and management of nervous system disorders. It brings together an inter-professional network of clinicians and neuroscientists who are actively collaborating on a range of research initiatives. The ‘virtual institute’ structure draws in members from across the Academic Health System (AHS) to work together to improve the care of patients with neurological disorders by embedding research and education into everyday clinical practice

The Institute provides excellence in diagnosis and treatment of common neurological and psychiatric disorders for the citizens of Qatar and its surrounding region and comprises of the faculties of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuro radiology and Neuropathology.

Requirements

We would like to hear from Consultant Neurologists with experience of:
- Headache
- Eplilepsy
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson's disease
- Stroke
- Meningitis

We expect our Consultants to have:
- Primary medical degree from a recognized medical school
- Board certification
- Between six months and two years clinical experience after Residency (depending upon training programme)
- Experience of undergraduate/postgraduate teaching
- Excellent verbal and written English is essential
- A second language is preferred

In addition we ask that Senior Consultants have held a Consultant post for a minimum of six consecutive years and have teaching, research and administrative experience
