Contract Manager - Infrastructure

Job description / Role

Linum Consult’s client is currently seeking a hands-on Contract Manager from a main contractor background to be involved in a major infrastructure construction project in Qatar.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing on-site advice to the company’s business/client units and project teams on contract management and policy compliance matters
- Initiating, tracking and monitoring contract changes, deliverables, correspondence and risks, and maintaining associated documentation
- Enabling the management of government, international, commercial contracts and subcontracts in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and customer requirements
- Organising and supervising the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within the assigned area is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policies
- Contributing to the preparation of the budget and assisting in monitoring financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated cost/revenues
- Assisting with the preparation of the tender documents and offering advice as to contract selection and procurement route ensuring at all times that appropriate risk mitigation is undertaken
- Establishing, publishing, monitoring and controlling the dispute notice processes and procedures with input from the consultants and contractors so that the business directives and regulations are met
- Contributing to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices

Requirements

- 15 years’ experience of contracts administration for major infrastructure construction projects
- At least a Bachelor’s degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a similar discipline, with MRICS or MCIOB chartership
- Background of working on-site for large highway/road construction projects
- A history of working for main contractors
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in the Middle East
- Excellent communication and management skills
- Tenacious personality with the ability to drive teams to completion
