Position Summary
The Coordinator of Donor Affairs is responsible for organizing and directing all activities related to blood donor recruitment and retention

Responsibilities

-Demonstrates knowledge and application of the HMC mission, vision, and values and promotes a positive professional image of the Blood Transfusion Service and of HMC at all times.
-Implements, interprets, and enforces organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
-Organizes and directs all administrative activities related to blood donor recruitment and retention; and manages daily operations at assigned sites.
-In consultation with the Head of Blood Transfusion Services, plans, develops, organizes, and coordinates plans for the management of donor recruitment and retention strategies and development and attainment of annual collection goals.
-Plans mobile donor campaigns in various parts of Qatar around the year and coordinates all activities for mobile collection drives.
-Identifies new sources of donor pools, lapsed donor groups, and donor development opportunities and develops targeted marketing programs to reengage.
-Conducts communication and training with volunteers and external partners on current and future marketing and customer service activities to the increase donor/volunteer base and to ensure high standards of donor services.
-Communicates directly with the community as well as potential and existing donors regarding blood needs.
-Prepares advertising materials such as presentations, brochures, flyers, newsletters, newspaper articles, fact sheet etc.
-Identifies, develops and implements creative and effective strategies for blood donor recruitment to ensure a stable, ongoing pool of volunteer donors.
-Interacts with the community, visits prospective or participating blood donor groups, and attends scheduled drives.
-Plans and manages a donor appreciation program that is designed to encourage continued periodic donations and to provide recognition for donors, and in cooperation with the Head of Blood Transfusion Services coordinates the annual donor appreciation event.
-Maintains accurate records to provide tracking and statistical data on individuals and group volunteer performance and prepares statistics and monthly reports analyzing progress and adverse trends with appropriate recommendations and conclusions.
-Identifies and resolves problems related to donor recruitment and satisfaction.
-Responds to emergency needs of blood supply by calls to volunteer donors, through sending SMS bulk system to volunteer donors from lists of donors and sending massages through Q-Tel to all customers as well as announcement in radio stations, television, and newspapers.
-Performs other related duties as indicated by the Chair of Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology and the Head of Blood Transfusion Services.

Requirements

- Education: Bachelor Degree
- Experience: significant experience in interacting with donors and the general community within the context of a large scale blood transfusion service.
- Experience of living and working in Qatar necessary.
- Language Skills: fluent Arabic and English
- Strong asset: knowledge of Persian and Urdu
