Act as senior communications professional to the chief, their executives and managers within the respective group. To ensure the provision of an effective and efficient communications service to the organization and to provide guidance and leadership to and day-to-day management of communications staff within the group. Uphold and protect the reputation of the organization while acting as a champion for the HMC brand.

Participate as a full member of the Corporate Communications Executive Committee.

Common Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of the overall group communications strategy, business plan and budget.
- Assist in the development of the communications policies and procedures and provide guidance to subordinates. Supervise and coordinate activities of subordinates as appropriate.
- Supervise and contribute to the preparation of project plans and communications work product within the group.
- Ensure that job specifications and key responsibilities are fully understood by subordinates and assign duties.
- Ensure that work of subordinates is precise, accurate, clear and in compliance with related policies and standards for communications.
- Assist in the review and standardization of processes to uphold the productivity of subordinates.
- Perform or assist subordinates in performing duties.
- Monitor subordinates’ performance and carry out performance reviews as appropriate.
- Ensure timeliness, clarity and quality of communications deliverables within the group.
- Identify challenges to communicating at the facility/hospital level and proactively seek solutions to resolve them.
- Write and edit content.
- Confer with peers to coordinate activities and resource assignments

Specific Responsibilities
- Proactively manage the service between Corporate Communications Department (CCD) and the Groups and respective operational management teams.
- Understand, embrace and uphold the role of an HMC corporate communications professional.
- Uphold the guiding principles for HMC communications of transparency, accountability, consistency, patient-centric, honesty, accessibility, timeliness, relevance, efficiency and effectiveness.
- To uphold, promote, advise and guide decisions and actions related to communications in keeping with corporate standards, business plans, strategic objectives and the agreed role of the communications function within HMC.
- To provide guidance, training, support and coaching to members of the communications team, ensuring consistency and clarity of messaging.
- To coordinate the activities of a professional communications team and manage performance to ensure a high standard of communications work product.
- To build the communications capacity and capability by enabling appropriate support and resources based on business needs and objectives.
- Make informed decisions
- Facilitate research and evaluation of audience perceptions, attitudes and awareness within hospitals/facilities.
- Contribute to building and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of markets and constituents for the communications environment generally and specifically of the populations/communities the hospitals serve.
- Be aware and mindful of key stakeholder groups, their perceptions and needs.
- Proactively manage and mitigate opportunities and risks arising from these stakeholder groups

Requirements

- Any Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred : Master's degree
- Minimum: 10 years relevant communications experience out of which 2 years in supervisory or managerial role
- Preferred: Previous experience of working in healthcare environment is desirable and previous experience or working within a multicultural team environment would be an advantage
- Language Skills: English advanced/Arabic preferred
- Computer Skills: Good
