Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Coordinates and supervises the preparation and/or review of contracting strategies, tender documents and contract documents.
- Guide the formulation and development of model contracts and approves the same for use by departments.
- Participation in bid evaluation and negotiations relating to major projects.
- Provides advice on contract interpretation and administration.
- Prepares and/or reviews and negotiates contractual claims and counter-claims.
- Guides and review of the contracting regulations.
- Trains national staff.
- Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor.
- Drafts, reviews or supervises the preparation of agreements relating to major Kahramaa duties.
- Negotiates major agreements on behalf of Kahramaa with contractors, purchasers and financiers with the aim of safeguarding Kahramaa’s interests.
- Provides legal advice to Kahramaa in relation to Kahramaa activities to ensure compliance with national legislation.
- Provides advice related to the impact of national legislation on Kahramaa’s activities.
- Drafts, reviews or supervises the formation of model agreements.
- Provides legal advice with regard to claims and interpretation of agreements.
- Actively participates in special purpose teams and comities to investigate, review and evaluate specific issues and/or negotiate specific agreements.
- Provides legal counsel to all departments of the Corporation.
- Provides legal opinion in relation of staff problems, their tights and obligation, which is often coming in from personnel Administration.
- Provides legal and opinion to other sections in the department regarding Qatari Law and the provisions of its application to concluded agreements.
- Provides opinion and prepare notes concerning drafts laws transferred from H.E the Minister and deputy Chairman to the department.
- Carries out legal research on matters submitted to the department.
- Provides legal opinion in areas of Arbitration.
- Provide opinion and prepare the various legal notes as regards the draft laws and Amiri Decrees presented to the Council of Ministers, which Kahramaa or the Ministry of Energy is a party therein.
- Prepares the legal notes for the pleading before the Courts, in cases filed by or against the Corporation.
- Appears in the courts sessions and plead before tribunals.
- Follows up the cases at bar to know the pronounced judgments.

Requirements

LLB Degree with Minimum 6 years of counseling experience in a corporate environment.

Ideal candidate would be someone at mid-career level with exposure to Corporate Legal Environment with expertise in writing/analysing/drafting legal contracts.
