Deputy Programme Manager (Water Infrastructure) - Doha, Qatar

CH2M is looking for a Deputy Programme Manager to join our Inner Doha Resewerage Strategy Implementation (IDRIS) Program, a $4.5 billion effort to replace the existing sewerage system in south Doha, Qatar. We are looking for a leader who will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our program delivery capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess at least 20 years of successful construction industry project delivery experience and ideally within the water sector.

The IDRIS scheme includes approximately 45 kilometers (km) of gravity deep tunnel conveyance tunnels (3- to 4.5 meter [m] diameter), approximately 65 km of smaller-diameter gravity lateral interceptor tunnels that connect the existing sewage collection to the conveyance tunnel, a terminal pump station (12 cubic meters per second [m3/sec]), new sewage treatment works with capacity of 500,000 m3/day, and a TSE return system to convey treated effluent for re-use within the country. The construction will be delivered in eight design-build contracts, with the contract for the new sewage treatment works to include 20 years of operation and maintenance. Operating as part of a three-person programme leadership team and reporting to the Programme Manager, The Deputy Programme Manager will oversee the commercial, contracts, controls, and administration functions of CH2M’s programme management. The position will manage staff of approximately 20 and will have direct interface with client leadership.

As a successful candidate you will be degree qualified, ideally engineering or technical related with at least 20 years of experience within the infrastructure/construction industry of which the last 10 years will be in project/programme management capacity. You will be able to develop and lead strategies for managing and monitoring the commercial, contractual, and controls performance on sophisticated contractors. In a CH2M Leadership position we are seeking you to manage, guide, and mentor all programme staff including implementing CH2M HR, staffing, and employment policies and procedures.

Requirements

You will be chartered or certified by a professional affiliation and preferably come with experience of managing complex projects within the Middle East.
