Design Engineer

Job description / Role

- Prepared detailed design and drawings for the proposed security systems and monitor the installation to ensure that the installations are being performed as per the designs.
- Conduct site visits and surveys on the client’s premises in order to identify the requirements and designs for the security systems.
- Prepare detailed security system designs and support draughtsman to produce shop/construction drawings for the projects (e.g. block diagram, wiring diagrams, etc.) using Computer Aided Designs and software, tools and methods.
- Support the proposal/bidding process through providing recommended designs and costing for executing the security systems project.
- Participate in all site meetings and operational matters related to day-to-day management of projects.
- Liaise with clients concerning progress of work, acceptance of workmanship, approval of submitted shop/construction drawings, problems encountered, etc..
- Monitor the activities of sub contracts to ensure that they are executing the required work as per the drawings and design specifications; raise any risks with corrective measures to the Head of Systems Engineering.
- Prepare monthly progress reports for projects and highlight any risks and prepare corrective action plans.
- Perform inspections and test of installed systems. o ensure that they meet the approved designs.
- Participate in the testing and commissioning of overall systems
- Handover of completed work designs to the client at the end of projects.
- Conduct performance appraisals for subordinates according to scheduled plans and recommend necessary actions as per the applied practices.
- Recommend training needs of subordinates and evaluate the outcomes of training courses in coordination with HR.

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Certification of security system manufacturers is preferred
- Eight of experience in security systems design

- Knowledge of security systems and technologies (CTV, Access Control, Security Alarms etc..)
- Security System design and drafting skills using Computer Aided Designs and softwares
- Understanding of the security system architecture and topology
- Project management Skills
- Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
- Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Organization and Planning Skills
- Computer literacy: MS windows applications (word processing, excel, spreadsheets…)
- Fluency in English, Arabic Preferred
