Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The incumbent will be the Technical Authority for Common Sulfur Handling, Molten and Solid, downstream of the various Sulfur Producers on Ras Laffan. Expected to provide expert technical advice with respect to installed equipment, as well as provide engineering advice for any proposed future equipment. The incumbent shall have had experience with material handling systems, with specific experience on Sulphur Handling equipment, in particular Sulphur Pumps, Granulators, Conveyors, Stacker Reclaimers and Shiploaders. He/She shall be knowledgeable with the relevant standards. He/She shall provide discipline support to project engineers/managers and lead discipline specific engineering teams as necessary.

Tasks and Duties:

Monitoring and surveillance of running plant conditions and report to operations to optimize production.
Identify Plant deficiencies, providing consultancy and assistance, recommending remedial actions where required.
Monitor progress of rectifications works.
Work closely with the Mechanical Maintenance Division and provide support during shutdown activities.
Actively participates in meetings supporting Risk Assessments, RCFA's and Management of change to upgrade plant, providing Engineering input as required.
Lead Engineering studies on Material Handling equipment, including operational performance analysis. Carry out feasibility studies as required for e-MOC's.
Provide regular Surveillance reports, identifying status of plant and any deficiencies, with recommendations provided to the asset team. Also provide weekly and monthly asset reports for the Engineering and Ventures reporting system.
Should be a very good team player with proven technical competence, extensively interacts with within and outside the Company, maintaining an extra-corporate network of technical contacts.

Requirements

Degree in Engineering or Science majoring in Engineering in the area of specialization from accredited university.

Minimum of 5-6 years’ experience with the majority experience gained in the Material Handling industry. Specialist in material handling systems and a working knowledge of CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturer Association).
Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills)
Computer literate and knowledgeable in relevant software tools and specifications.
Very good written and spoken English. High computer literacy in both office and technical applications.
