Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Site inspection and follow-up of customer water complaints and pipeline emergency works during the shift, Update work order inspection sheets for used material and prepare necessary reports, do the minor repair work himself, assign incidents to Pipe- Fitters or contractor & supervise their work, Prepares damage claims in case of Pipeline damage by Contractors.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Site investigation of water customer complaint and pipeline emergency cases & reporting.
- Supervises the implementation of emergency pipeline works performed by in- house/outsource Pipe-Fitters or contractors during normal and/or outside shift hours if necessary.
- Ensure that the pipeline works including reinstatement of roads/pavements are carried out as per the specifications and requirements.
- Follow-up Issued contract work requests (CWR) to the contractors.
- Daily update CWR checklist for work progress.
- Daily update of water meter details.
- Update inspection sheet for the material used in the site after completing the work.
- Prepare shutoff request and co-ordinates with Operation Section for shut off.
- Prepare main laying notification for new pipe laying, apparatus installation/replacement, and co-ordinate with GIS surveyors.
- Performs other related duties as needed upon request by Maintenance Engineer or Emergency Shift Supervisor for site investigation of water customer complaint and pipeline emergency cases & reporting.
- Supervises the implementation of emergency pipeline works performed by in- house/outsource Pipe-Fitters or contractors during normal and/or outside shift hours if necessary & update GIS.
- Ensure that the pipeline works including reinstatement of roads/pavements are carried out as per the specifications and requirements.

Requirements

- Three years diploma or higher.
- Minimum of five (5) years as maintenance field inspector of water networks.
- Knowledge about reinstatement of roads/pavements, water pipeline main laying and maintenance works.
- Requires Qatari or GCC driving license.

Work Environment
- 90% Site work, 10% office.

Other Significant Requirements:
- To be well aware of the distribution system operations & Maintenance.
- Knowledge about waterworks materials DCIP, HDPE, Cooper & MDPE.
- Familiar with GIS issues.
- Have leading skills and able to work independently.
- Have a good ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Preferable to know Arabic as well.
- Knowledge in using relevant computer operating applications (word, excel, project), GIS applications and navigation system Requires
- This position requires good training for ERP system.
