Finance Officer - Treasury Operations - Qatar Airways - Doha

In this role, you will be assisting the Treasury Operations team with a responsibility in the enhancement of the flow of funds, operating cash flow and working capital and trade financing. You will also be responsible for ensuring timely accounting and upkeep of Treasury data as well as managing and enhancing reconciliation processes.

In addition, you will be assisting in developing team objectives, with management responsibility for a team of approximately 4-6 staff.

Key responsibilities:
- Supervision of daily cash flow and fund movements, ensuring optimal utilization of funds.
- Ensure daily adequacy of funds required for corporate payments at either Head Office or Outstation level.
- Ensure smooth banking and financial operation. Dealing with financial institutions, both in Doha and/or internationally, for day to day banking transations and/or queries.
- Ensure timely accounting and upkeep of Treasury data preparation and reporting.
- Monitor and manage the issuance, maintenance and cancellation of LC/BGs.
- Negotiate with financial institutions for deposit interest rates, working capital financing loan rates, as well as other changes relevant to Cash Management.
- Ensure optimal spot execution vs. budget vs. invoice rates and vs. the market.
- Prepare Annual Cash Flow and Monthly Actual Cash Flow reports.
- Collect, verify and upload Foreign Exchange Rates to the ERP.
- Ensure adequate petty cash float is available where required.
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget.
- Oversee and supervise employees and direct daily activities.

Requirements

Candidates should have a Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration. MBA (with an emphasis in Finance) is preferred.

Previous experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of job-related experience is required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Corporate Treasury or Investment Banking function.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of short-term financing and trade financing instruments.
- Knowledge of capital markets products (FX, debt, equities).
- Knowledge of cash management techniques and technologies.
- Proven leadership/management skills - delegation of work, mentoring and coaching, fostering teamwork among team members.
- Good communication, analytical, problem-solving, negotiating, decision-making and organisational skills are required.
