Fire Safety Supervisor

Job description / Role

- Implement and enforce at his/her level QF Fire prevention and protection policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular fire safety walks and inspections and ensure that QF facilities comply with NFPA standards and other relevant fire codes.
- Maintain and whenever possible improve the fire safety inspection program.
- Conduct fire risk assessments for existing facilities.
- Assist in the Qatar Civil Defence (QCD) certification renewal program for all QF facilities.
- Conduct fire warden training and maintain the training program.
- Participate in fire safety awareness campaigns.
- Assist in fire investigations and produce fire investigation reports that include root causes and corrective actions.
- The ability to use, interpret and apply fire safety codes and standards.
- Participate in pre-occupancy fire safety assessments for new facilities and provide feedback.
- Participate in Fire Evacuation drills and produce evacuation drill reports.
- Maintain currency of knowledge and skills with all new fire safety-related codes and standards.
- Maintain a reporting mechanism and action tracking mechanism for capturing all improvement actions disseminate and follow up with all stakeholders.
- Participate in the regular testing program for life safety systems in coordination with facility end-users, operators and other QF stakeholders.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.
- Work proactively with staff to establish and maintain a framework that promotes a culture of fire safety across the organization.
- Propose and design work processes and systems to enable the business function to achieve its business objectives.
- Provide technical and site fire safety support to event organizers.
- Provide technical support to other Qf entities in matters related to fire safety.
- Respond to client’s requests according with the SLA in matters related to fire safety.
- Complies with QF health, safety, security and environment policies, procedures, legal regulations and objectives applicable to areas of responsibility to ensure that work is performed in a safe, healthy, secure and environmentally-sound manner.

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in fire safety Management or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Excellent Knowledge of fire codes use and applications.
- Presentation and Communication Skills.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in fire safety management or HSE management.
- Good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with well developed written and oral English ability.
- Computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, as statistical databases and record keeping with basic report preparation
- Ability to:
- Perform fire safety inspections and identify code non-compliance.
- Participate in fire investigations.
- Read and interpret codes, regulations, technical reports and building plans.
- Prepare and present professional fire safety presentations.
- Prepare and maintain clear, accurate and concise records, correspondence and reports.
- Demonstrate an awareness and appreciation of the cultural diversity of the community.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, staff and the public
