Food Nutrition - Dietitian (Manager) Qatar Aircraft Catering Company - Qatar - Doha

Job Purpose: Develops meals in line with specialist dietary requirement for the airline industry (SPML) and oversees their production.Advises procurement on product requirement and audits and approves suppliers providing SPML components. Assures compliance with dietary requirements of medical meals.

Accountabilities:

Operational
- Provides health advice and promotes healthy meal options based on nutritional needs and dietary assessments during the general menu development process
- Advises customers on special meal options in relation to nutritional and allergen requirements to assure compliance with dietary requirement
- Develops policies for nutritional and dietic processes in Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) production environment for menu planning
- Develops a special meal recipe data base for future reference and to increase flexibility in special meal selection
- Develops preparation guidelines for medical meals to avoid cross contamination with allergens and supervises adherence to such guidelines

Management & Leadership
- Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives
- Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed
- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery

Development
- Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth with expertise
- Train and develop other employees,for proper succession planning and risk management
- Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program

Operational Safety
- Responsible to ensure that employees at all levels understand work health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant QR Group induction, information, instruction, training and supervision
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environment management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to assure employee safety, security, legislative, compliance and delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in food and nutrition, dietetics or food service management
- Expert- minimum 7 years of job-related experience required
- At least 2-3 years relevant experience in food industry manufacturing, professionally qualified in food safety
- Experience and understanding of change management

Preferred
- Experience in menu development for the airline industry (cook and cill process, frozen meal production)
- Previous experience in food manufacturing
- Post Graduate qualification or Degree in a related field
- Registered dietitian or nutritionist
- Certified Nutrition Specialist
