Government Relations Officer - HR Services - Qatar
From strategic guidance to supporting the day-to-day needs of managers and employees, the Human Resources Division drives best practice across the Alshaya business. HR is segmented across generalist and specialist functions including HR services, recruitment and talent management. These are just some of the teams that support over 110 nationalities working across multiple brands and geographies. You will support government relations processes in Qatar, including communication with Government Offices, Ministries, Chamber of Commerce, Police Departments etc. as required. You will support activities relating to immigration, passport authorities and foreign embassies to ensure the smooth movement of employees and visitors.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Supporting timely and cost effective processes to manage passport and visa activities ensuring documents are tracked and reports are available to monitor progress
* Building internal and external relationships using formal and informal channels to liaise with appropriate authorities / bodies or contact persons to resolve any problems or matters concerning the Company, its operations or employees, including traffic accidents and police matters
* Maintaining planning documentation to ensure that key milestones are achieved.
Requirements
* A minimum 3 years' government and civil authority liaison in appropriate market for commercial / business operations purposes
* A good level of high school education
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with authorities
* A proactive and objective approach to problem solving.
Public Relations skills would also be an advantage.
