Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Within the mission, vision and values of HMC the head of occupational health manage the medical services provided to HMC staff, review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury related to work.

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of the HMC mission, vision and values
- Direct and manage all clinical services provided to HMC staff
- Managing the daily work in the staff medical center (doctor, nurse, technicians and supporting staff)
- Maintain a health care program to the staff
- Advice in clinical base which cases should be treated free of charge due to work related and medical emergency
- Promote occupational health and safety within HMC by advising the director on how to increase worker productivity through raising morale and reducing absenteeism and turnover
- Securing savings on insurance premiums, workers compensation benefits and litigation expenses
- Analyze work environments and design programs to control, eliminate , and prevent disease or injury
- Conduct inspections and report of a business which areas may not be in compliance with state and HMC Policies,
- Advise on the cost and effectiveness of safety and health programs
- Develop methods to predict hazards from experiences, historical data, workplace analysis, and other information sources
- Identify potential hazards in systems, equipments, products, facilities, or processes planned for use in the future
- Evaluate the probability and severity of accidents or exposures to hazardous materials that may result.
- Identify where controls need to be implemented to reduce or eliminate hazards and advise if a new program or practice is required.
- Investigate unsafe working conditions, study possible causes, and recommend remedial action.
- Assist with the rehabilitation of workers after accidents and injuries, and to make sure that they return to work successfully
- Evaluate and coordinate programs that impact the environment, such as the storage and handling of hazardous waste or monitoring the cleanup of contaminated soil or water
- Complies with HMC policies and procedures and in particular infection control, safety and quality Management
- Performs other duties as requested.

Requirements

- University degree in Occupational Health and Safety OR Science OR Nursing
- 7 years in general health and safety field including 2 years in a supervisory role
