Client Details:
Leading Oil & Gas company based in Qatar
Description
* Act as a technical expert within the department and resolve complex technical issues with significant potential impact on business results
* Provide technical advice and influence stakeholders, regulators and contractors on related issues
* Lead specific technical projects and investigations within an area of specialization
* Provide technical leadership to internal and external teams
* Implement technical strategies in support of the department and group's objectives
* Plan, control and contribute to high level technical projects within an area of specialization
* Ensure practices are aligned with accepted industry standards and best practices and are also consistent with statutory, regulatory and corporate guidelines
* Provide recommendations and advice to the department manager
* Assist in the recruitment of technical staff within the area of specialization
* Lead major system development and continuous improvement initiatives within the area of specialisation
* Represent the department or group on internal or external working groups and committees
* Prepare and present key reports to the department or group manager, committees or working groups and external organisations, as required
* Conceptualise important situations/issues keeping in view the inter-relationships of other internal or external parties
* Attain and maintain technical Capability as per the agreed competencies
* Take the lead in the development of long term IT strategy and vision for the department

Requirements
* Preferably a Third level qualification in the respective area of specialization, from an accredited institution
* Preferably a minimum of 18 years' broad based Information Technology experience and technical knowledge
* Appropriate IT certification/qualification in the relevant area (i.e. Microsoft, SAP, etc.)
* Mandatory bachelors degree (minimum)
