Head of PMO for Vodafone Qatar

Role purpose:
To be responsible for the overall company governance, and direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of major cross-functional initiatives, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Accountable for the coordination of 15+ Governance Forums as outlined within the Governance Framework and documented within the Governance Roadmap
• Supporting COO on internal Strategic Plan and Execution definition and monitoring

Accountable for project management of major cross-functional initiatives assigned to PMO function, covering the areas of:
• Scope management
• Risk & Issue Management
• Change Management
• Resource Management
• Budget Management
• Communication Management

Requirements

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

Deep experience in Telecom, including but not limited to:
• Commercials
• Telecom Technology
• Customer Experience
• Project/Product Development and Delivery
• Governance Structure and Controls
• KPI Management
• Budgeting Management

• Strong ability to establish, build and develop relationships internally with key stakeholders throughout the entire organization (from ExCo to Managers), promoting the common goals and benefits driving the day to day activity.
• Capable to drive and influence key stakeholders to follow PMO/Governance rules and educate them on benefits and value of its adherence
• Strategic vision and Decision making: Ability to identify and prioritize strategic company goals and priorities, and liaise and communicate with wide range of stakeholders (up to ExCo level) and be both involved in and facilitating key decision making
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
• Strong Project management skills, with must have experience in delivering large scale ICT projects/programmes internationally, and also with wide experience in Middle East Region.
• Ability to work under stress and to demanding timescales.
• Consulting experience, real experience from other Telecom operators and vendors is a valuable asset for the profile.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• University degree
• 15 years + experience as a PMO
• Project Management formation (PMP, Prince 2, or similar)

Dotted reports: Multiple, depending on project assignments and Governance forums
