Job description / Role
Linum Consult’s client is an international engineering company currently seeking an HSE Manager from a client-side or PMC background (not main contractor) to develop and implement their company-wide HSE policies and procedures, based in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working with the client to develop the Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security management policies, and issuing guidelines to design consultants and contractors
• Reviewing the HSSE plans and procedures prepared by each design consultant and contractor to ensure compliance
• Supporting the design consultants and contractors in the implementation of the HSSE policies and procedures, and monitoring their performance
• Providing leadership and direction to managers and professional staff on the project
• Preparing formal audit plans and carrying out audits accordingly
• Interfacing with regulatory HSE bodies
• Collating and reporting all HSSE statistics
• Collaborating with consultants and contractors to develop and implement action plans to improve the HSSE performance
Requirements
PROFILE
• 12 years’ experience in the international construction industry in a Health & Safety role, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
• At least a bachelor’s degree qualification in a relevant Engineering subject, with a NEBOSH qualification
• A history of creating company-wide HSE policies and procedures for end-clients or PMCs
• Must have a background of working in the Middle East
• Excellent communication and project management skills, with any Arabic language skills an advantage
• Full driving license
