HSE Manager - Heavy Civils

A major contracting company is currently conducting a search for a HSE Manager who has vast experience working on heavy civils/pipelines project. The position is based in Qatar and will be assisting the HSE Team of large heavy civils/pipelines project.

This position will provide full time environmental health and safety support to the operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with company regulatory requirements. The position will be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and its permitting applications. Support the development and coordination of training programs.

Prime roles:
- Environmental health and safety managers inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
- Goal is to protect the employees, customers and the environment.
- Recommend changes to protect workers, and educate employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs.
- Investigate accidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future.

Requirements

- Degree in Engineering and related certifications i.e HSE, NEBOSH, OSHA etc
- Minimum 18+ years’ experience in HSE role with heavy civils construction projects.
- Ability to perform difficult and complex HSE activities
- Demonstrate track record in the development and implementation of construction HSE policies and procedures
- Supervisory and managerial experience
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills

Desirable:
- Professionally accredited by NEBOSH/OSHA/LEAD Auditor
- Heavy civils and pipelines related project experience
- Experience working on projects located in the Middle East
