Charterhouse is working with a renowned organisation in Qatar. Our client is looking to hire an experienced In House Lawyer (Banking).

Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice on the transactional banking matters in order to protect the bank from any legal risk.

You will provide legal advice on private banking, corporate banking and credit administration departments. You will also review agreements with other financial institutions including risk participation agreements, studying and revising contracts and drafting legal documents pertaining to the bank’s activities. In addition, you will handle the bank’s compliance to ensure all legal provisions are fulfilled ensuring the bank’s protection.

Requirements

The successful candidate should come from a banking background and be a native English speaker. You should have at least 4 years’ experience in a law firm or financial institution practicing matters related to contracts, finance and banking. Advanced knowledge of transactional banking alongside a thorough understanding of the civil law system are essential for this role. A university graduate LLB with a LLM from a US firm would be highly advantageous.
