Integration and Interface Engineer

Job description / Role

We are looking for an Integration and Interface Engineer to work for a Main contractor on the Doha Metro project in Qatar

This role requires strong technical background in a multi-disciplinary consulting environment primarily within the rail industry.

Enable management of rail systems discipline consultants/engineers in delivery of rail facilities in all project stages and systems engineering processes to satisfy business development and project delivery obligations for the Transport Engineering Team.

Fundamental broad experiences in the rail industry are seen as essential to determine optimum scheme design options and system performance during project phases of Feasibility, Concept, Preliminary, Detailed Design stages of a projects lifecycle. Experience of independent design verification and also site supervision is also highly desirable.

- Support and improve communication and governance with the project
- Coordination and support of Design & Development deliverables at project level
- Manage the acceptance of technical solutions requiring a high level of integration by the Engineer
- Verify project compliance with contractual compliance
- Implement the methods and Engineering tools (e.g. DOORS/CP2) applicable to the project.
- Participate in Technical Risk Management ensuring that common technical risks are adequately addressed by project partners.
- Provide support to the Test & Commissioning Team during the Commissioning phase of the project for issues common to both Civil and Systems.
- Support project demonstration of compliance with performance requirements.
- Support the project for all technical and operational matters associated with Civil and Systems integration and interfaces.
- Broad experience with multidiscipline integration projects
- Demonstrate ability to analyse rail designs to determine delivery requirements of rail equipment and systems.
- Demonstrate an ability to manage and lead a team in a multidiscipline project.
- Assist in the development of internal practices in support of Requirements Management and Systems Integration across all disciplines.

Requirements

- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical).
- Preferred Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
- Minimum experience of 10 years preferably in Rail
- Thorough experience in the analysis and documentation of rail systems engineering works and processes from Feasibility and Design to Implementation and Client Handover.
- Understanding of Systems Assurance processes and requirements (i.e. EN 50126/8/9)
- Specialist expertise in a related field.
- Resolution of Requirements, Integration and Interface issues
- Positive contribution to the closure of action plans within project-wide forums of experts with the Employer, the Engineer and third parties.
- Anticipation, scheduling and preparation of integration issues
- Mitigation of technical risks related to requirements, integration and interfaces
