Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose
The Interior Designer is responsible for developing the design to detail and to produce all necessary detailed construction drawings, diagrams specifications and schedules etc to enable the building contractor to carry out the work to a satisfactory standard.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Determine the client’s goals and requirements of the project and respond as accurately and appropriately
• Consider how the space will be used and how people will move through the space.
• Sketch preliminary design plans, including electrical layouts.
• Specify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures.
• Prepare final plans, using computer applications.
• Create a timeline for the interior design project and estimate project costs.
• The ability to visualize & create concepts and explain it to client.
• Responsible for Preliminary and Final Design stages of any Project from 3D to Working / Shop Drawings.
• Prepares reports and specifications; including review of reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations.
• Ability to finalise mood boards - a collection of suitable images, colors and materials.
• Preparing Bills of quantity.
• Attend regular meetings with clients, contractors and other specialists
• To oversee the building contract and to monitor the work in terms of quality, progress and costs as closely as is reasonably possible.
• Ability to pay attention to environmental and sustainable issues and where possible to incorporate energy saving technologies into design specification.
• Work in an industry/company designing new buildings, restoring and conserving old buildings and developing new ways of using existing buildings.

Requirements

Skills
• Strong customer service and problem solving skills, including the ability to provide diligent, prompt and courteous responses to users’ and questions and technical issues.
• Act as Consultant’s Representative in all project works if it is necessary.
• Computer literacy with a strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and MS Office applications
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Creative and innovative with analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; maintain a calm poise during stressful situations.
• Excellent attention to details
• Can work under pressure while being highly productive

Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor degree in Interior Design/Architecture is essential.
• Must have 3+ years experience in interior design.
• Advanced In computer software such as 3D MAX with V-ray, AutoCAD (2D), Adobe Photoshop (latest Editions).
• The ability to produce shop Drawings & detailing of all Interior design field from floor to ceiling.
• Have knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical & lighting design and calculation.
• Must be proficient in / or knowledgeable in material type and specifications of finishes.
