Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Knowing the professional environment & standards; Global awareness & understanding; Evaluation of Internal controls, tools, documentation, assess risks, sampling, types of evidence, techniques of collecting evidence, prepare test plans & conduct test.
- Use of Financial Control Systems, Aspects of Fraud, role of controls to prevent and detect fraud.
- Identify activities for audit coverage, evaluate their significance and assess the degree of risk and plan audit coverage to mitigate the risk.
- Design and schedule Audit programs to ensure adequate audit coverage of the identified audit risks.
- Review and prepare the final and detailed reports and working papers for the Chief Internal Auditor with recommendations for improvement of the internal controls.
- Discuss the audit findings and recommendations with the Department Managers.
- Discuss audit conclusions and recommendations with departmental managers in order to obtain agreement on a plan of action to improve operations.
- Undertake regular research and updates on new audit techniques and ensure that findings are assessed and presented at round table meetings for awareness and potential implementation.
- Review of new professional standards within the Accounting and Audit fields.
- Prepare materials for Audit Committee meetings.
- Represent Internal Audit on various Project Committee’s / System Development activities and recommend control and other system enhancements where necessary.
- Perform Ad-hoc audits and investigations as requested by the Chief Internal Auditor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor in order to ensure that flow of work is continuous and adequate relief is provided.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Business Administration or in a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification e.g, ACCA, CIA, CPA etc. is preferred/
- Minimum of 5 years of position related experience is essential
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas sector or in an international organization / accounting firm is preferred.
- Previous experience working in the Middle East is essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is a must, Arabic is an advantage.
- Computer literacy involving the use of spreadsheets, databases and graphic packages.
