Our client is a global network of sports channels with headquarters across the Middle East, France, Indonesia and the US is currently undergoing significant executive talent growth given its formation in 2012.

The firm currently operates and provides services across the Middle East, North Africa, France, USA, Indonesia, Canada, Hong Kong and Thailand. The Executive Team are now looking to recruit several Interpreters for their Newsroom who will be responsible for LIVE translation of interviews and speeches from a foreign language to Arabic.

The Interpreter role will be covering Live events from all over the globe and interviewing newsmakers & experts who do not speak Arabic.

Reporting to the Head of Editorial Support; this role is responsible for the following:
- Provide live on-air English (and/ or French, German or Italian) /Arabic interpreting for prearranged interviews and press conferences inside and outside News Bulletins.
- Provide live on-air English (and/ or French, German or Italian) /Arabic interpreting for other live events like daily briefings, court cases, hearings, debates, etc.
- Provide live on-air English (and/ or French, German or Italian) /Arabic interpreting for live and recorded weekly programmes, like Talk-Shows,
- Provide live on-air English (and/ or French, German or Italian) /Arabic interpreting for occasional programs.
- Provide live on-air English (and/ or French, German or Italian) /Arabic interpreting for daily News programs.
- Preparing for events and completing necessary research for background information on the subject, the personalities and issues involved.
- During events which are spread over a long period of time interpreters are required to provide live on-air interpreting the speech and comments of the Commentators and Analyst.
- Interpreters are also required to provide live on-air interpreting for long events which may last for hours.

Requirements

- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Translation, Interpretation or a relative linguistics Degree.
- Minimum 3 years of professional practical experience in simultaneous interpreting field.
- Good knowledge of current affairs, global issues and TV technology.
- Experience in the MENA Media/Broadcasting sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong research and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under extreme pressure and to work with a sense of urgency.
- Interpreters should be able to work long hours in breaking news cases and they should enjoy excellent Arabic language as they work as a bridge between 2 languages.
