Lead Finance Officer - Aircraft Financing - Qatar Airways - Doha

In the role of Lead Finance Officer - Aircraft Financing you will be responsible for coordinating and assisting the team in the execution and management of the aircraft financing & leasing business process and support the back office operations related to this activity for Qatar Airways Group and Qatar Aviation Leasing Company (QALC).

You will be accountable for the following:
- Coordinate with the Finance Manager in the critical evaluation and analysis of financing proposals including, but not limited to, finance leases, ECA-backed structure, capital market issuances, operating leases, sale and lease backs, and refinancing transactions.
- Assist the Finance Manager in all aspects of execution for financing deals including co-ordinating between various internal and external parties as required.
- Follow-up to ensure that all payments for interest, principal, and leasing-related payments are executed accurately and in a timely manner as and when they are due.
- Assist to ensure that all aircraft financing and leasing-related documentation and executed agreements are filed in an organised manner.
- Coordinating the month-end and year-end accounting processes related to all aspects of the aircraft financing and leasing business.
- Facilitating the planning, development, management, and implementation of aircraft financing and leasing strategies.
- Compiling the production of weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc analysis and reports to senior management.
- Assist with management of interaction with internal and external entities to ensure targets are met.
- Submit budgets and variance analysis against the annual budget and long-term business plan for management to facilitate decision making.
- Prepare reports to Ministry of Finance (MOF) to ensure that funding from the MOF is secured for each aircraft.
- Ensure preparation of yearend financial statements and supporting audit file to ensure that audit memorandum are unqualified and require minimum and only standard representation from Management.
- Organise and manage all financial transactions in books of accounts with an eye on accuracy, timeliness & completeness.
- Verify / prepare payment analysis for all major expenses to ensure Creditors are properly paid as per agreed terms of payment

Requirements

Candidates should have a Bachelors Degree (or equivalent).

Candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience with good knowledge of book keeping/accounting, ability to work independently with minimum supervision and be focused on deadlines, attention to details.
