Lead Finance Officer - Fuel Procurement

Job description / Role

The Lead Finance Officer - Fuel Procurement will be responsible for leading and maintaining fuel procurement processes i.e. review Tenders, Contracts, Prices, Invoices, Supply and others. You will ensure a valid fuel contract is in place at all scheduled QR group destinations through the effective and timely management of sourcing best practice.

Key responsibilities:
- Accountable for purchasing fuel for QR group ensuring that best price and availability is maintained.
- Reviewing the value of fuel contracts always looking for the lowest cost of ownership deal.
- Lead ongoing fuel contract negotiations - regular price reviews and use of market days to influence the purchase of fuel from multiple sources.
- Lead fuel tendering exercises completig the tender documentation, reviewing received bids, analysing data and awarding contracts to suppliers offering the optimum deal.
- Review fuel consumption - working together with operations teams to ensure that regular and accurate planning, budgeting and forecasting is conducted around fuel supply.
- Assist in managing fuel budgeting, costs and pricing using market data and analysis including future supply requirements.
- Follows up the analysis of fuel prices ensuring that interaction with other departments is done in a timely fashion to allow changes to budgets and/or operating plans
- Working with the Finance Department to review and clear fuel invoices.

- Generating Excel sheets containing fuel prices for internal distribution.

Requirements

You will have a Bachelors degree in Business, Procurement or other finance qualification as well as a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.

You will have experience in fuel purchasing/procurement management with proven ability to invite suppliers for tendering on strategic standards in line with industry requirements.

You will also have experience in tracking Oil/Brent prices to monitor the changes in price, that may affect budget and operations, and to help in preparing forecast tables. You will also be experienced in forecasting - Hedging.

Additionally, you will have gained managerial skills from your previous experience and have the ability to delegate work, train and develop your subordinates and have strong mentoring and coaching skills.
