Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer experienced in working on post tensioned and steel reinforced structures, to work on a high rise mixed use development project in Qatar.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Completing a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
- Performing complex engineering tasks effectively and accurately.
- Extracting engineering information from Computer Aided Design (CAD) Drawings.
- Preparing engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Interfacing with the other disciplines to ensure proper co-ordination of the steel structural aspects of the project.
- Preparing detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Preparing and issuing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Liaising with and providing technical guidance to CAD designer/drafters, designers, and engineers working on the same project.
- Designing and drafting of building structure work.
- Performing day-to-day activities to execute plans / projects / programs / designs.
- Preparing study reports, technical notes and public consultation papers.
- Evaluating tenders and preparing tender-related reports, as well as documents to include conditions of contract, specifications, method of measurements and bills of quantities etc.
- Carrying out design activities that are cost-effective and comply with clients’ specifications and statutory regulations.
- Coordinating with internal parties to resolve interface issues and technical clarifications.
- Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 15 + years, structural engineering experience, working on prestigious steel reinforced structures, such as High Rise, Commercial, Retail building projects for an engineering consultancy.

Bachelors Degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering or a related subject is required. A professional organisational membership will be advantageous.
