We are currently looking to hire a LEED Construction Manager for one of our prestigious project in Doha, Qatar.

The role of the LEED Construction Manager/Supervision Consultant is to supervise the General Contractor on the implementation of the LEED BOD strategies for the eventual certification by USGBC. In addition, the LEED CM manages the BOD strategies such that the goal points are maintained throughout the course of the construction. His role is also to identify and resolve the LEED issues which could jeopardize LEED strategy goals.

LEED CM role is to integrate, manage, coordinate, administer and facilitate the execution of the LEED project within the overall development. LEED CM also conducts overall planning of the LEED services as stipulated in the contract. LEED CM conducts LEED periodic technical and quality audits on contractors involved in the projects.

LEED CM will have leading role in quantifying, monitoring and managing of carbon emissions. His early involvement during the construction phase is crucial to support the carbon inventory maintained by QSC and to allow QSC to interpret and convert these data into associated carbon emissions. Carbon inventory and management is a dynamic process that requires integrated multidisciplinary expert perspectives. This is achieved through clear documentation and strategic management provided through a comprehensive carbon inventory and management system. LEED CM will implement a series of guidelines, specifications and management processes to effectively coordinate and manage carbon emissions to realize project targets.

- Reports to the Senior Construction Manager
- Advocates sustainable development concepts
- Provides high quality advice on capacity building needs and plans
- Shares development experiences / good practices that have been acquired elsewhere and shares them with relevant stakeholders
- Reviews designs to ensure their conformity with the high level of sustainability requirements
- Manages and issues CEMP
- Ensures implementation & maintenance of CEMP
- Reviews contractors Environmental plans and procedures
- Perform Environmental audits
- Develops and ensures proper planning, implementation and follow-up of Environmental Management System
- Manages Environmental Policies & Procedures
- Perform On-site inspection program to audit all construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable local regulations
- Review and approve the contractor’s key LEED sub-contractors stated compliance goals and LEED strategies for his project; (Includes, civil, architectural and MEP in relation to LEED requirements.
- Review design documents to identify possible procurement savings and / or buildability issues related to LEED;
- Manage LEED submittal activities and provide general interface between contractors and Designers.
- Monitor progress and site activities related to achieving LEED goals;
- Monitoring the performance of the LEED sub-contractors and advise the Senior Construction Manager of key issues;
- Review of the Contractor’s construction methodologies and ensuring the contractors abide with agreed methodologies as relate to LEED goals and activities;
- Reviewing and approving the LEED portions of the contractors’ material submittals in accordance with approved design documents;
- Adopt a leading role with respect to LB’s LEED CMS Construction Management Plan and provide assistance to the team as required.
- Monitor progress and implementation of Construction Activity Pollution Prevention Plan
- Monitor progress and implementation of Construction Waste Management Plan
- Monitor progress and implementation of Construction Indoor Air Quality management Plan
- Enforcement and compliance to all low emitting protocols
- Conduct LEED meetings with design team, contractor and client
- Review LEED MOMs
- Review contractor’s LEED weekly reports
- Review contractor’s LEED monthly reports
- Review weekly progress report
- Review monthly progress reports
- Prepare a LEED monthly report
- Coordinate all LEED documentation with designer
- Conduct a weekly field review and report findings via a weekly report
- Monitor the implementation of strategies
- Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning

Requirements

- Qualified to a Degree Level and Professional Qualifications from a recognized University.
- Minimum of 15 years of overall work experience within the construction industry.
- Minimum of 7 years of Managerial experience.
- Experience in Middle East/North Africa desirable
- Previous experience with engineering consultancy highly regarded.
