Employment: Full Time

Our client, an established multi-business stream Group based in Qatar seeks to employ a Legal Counsel. The ideal candidate will provide legal advice on all kinds of Contracts/Agreements and enforce legal due diligence.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research for the benefit of Group, its businesses, interests and subsidiaries
- Ensure that the negotiations, executions or terminations of any contracts/agreements is in compliance with the company’s business practice, policy & procedures, and with the applicable laws
- Review contracts/agreements related to the group, or it’s affiliates and subsidiaries
- Liaise with 3rd parties & suppliers in negotiating terms of the contracts/agreements
- Makes recommendations on the best way forward on critical and important issues which are escalated/ to the VP/ GC, for a final decision
- Revision of contracts and agreements
- Legal researches
- Corporate compliance with laws and regulations
- Legal consultations
- Review and negotiate terms of contract/agreement of the 3rd party/suppliers
- Draft common agreement format for 3rd party compliance
- Safe guard the interests of the company and then the 3rd party by ensuring compliance with the law
- Review the license and registration of 3rd parties for services obtained
- Guides, Advises and provide thought leadership to colleagues with the legal dept, and the divisions
- Reviewing all kinds of agreements and contracts relevant to the business of the group, its affiliates and subsidiaries
- Reading of GCC laws & regulations in relation to group, its affiliates and subsidiaries
- Uses innovative solutions to facilitate improvement at multiple functional levels
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts/agreements with contractors, suppliers and any other service providers
- Ensures that the organization and its subsidiaries, affiliates, are up to date with the current and existing law on corporate related matters
- Revision of legal translation as may be required
- Assists in the studies and researches, and also ensures compliance of the legal process with the best practice laws and corporate legal standards
- Interfacing with 3rd Parties and Suppliers on legal matter related to the organization, its affiliates and sister companies

Requirements

- Graduate of Law from a reputable University
- 10 Yrs overall experience with at least three to five years’ experience in reviewing contracts
- Bilingual, both English and Arabic (preferred). French is an asset.
- Exposure in drafting & reviewing all kind of contracts and creating template for the group
- In depth knowledge in common law preferably in contracts, commercial agencies, new entities (legal documents and registration), and arbitration, franchises, distribution agreements.
- Equally able and effective working individually and as part of a team
- With high Integrity, Self-motivation, confidence, initiative & must be proactive
- Computer literate
