Job description / Role
Supervise, coordinate and monitor the maintenance and associated activities of staff under his section, to the standard and performance set by the department.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of the HMC vision, mission and values.
- Supervise the Waste Treatment Plan operation, ensuring compliance with safety and state environmental regulations.
- Work closely with the FSO - Environmental in conducting waste audit in all the corporation's facilities and activities and submit recommendations to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
- Assist the FSO - Environmental in organizing and regular training of all hospital staff in waste handling.
- Work with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) regarding issuing, accomplishing and returning of work orders or documentation.
- Responsible for the performance and discipline of all tradesmen assigned in the section.
- Advise the FSO - Environmental on the staffing, materials and equipment requirements of the section.
- Evaluate work performance and make recommendations such as merit increases, promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.
- Provide guidance, counsel and technical assistance to technicians.
- Complies with HMC policies and procedures; and in particular infection control, safety and quality management.
- Performs other duties as requested
Requirements
- 2 years diploma after high school in Engineering OR science OR related.
- Preferred: University degree in engineering OR Relevant certification on environmental engineering from a recognized body is beneficial.
Experience
- Essential: 4 years of total experience in related fields.
- Preferred: 6 years spent in supervising and handling of healthcare wastes and related environmental engineering concern
