Employment: Full Time

The Manager - Corporate Reporting & General Ledger in Qatar will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and general accounting as well as developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The candidate will also be responsible to oversee staff accountants and manage the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

The Manager - Corporate Reporting & General Ledger will be resposible for the following:
* Ensure deadlines are met and a maltitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities are conducted.
* Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the departmental strategy and plans in order to enable the achievement of departmental needs and objectives.
* Contribute to the development and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the department activities to ensure that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
* Supervise day-to-day operations of the assigned organizational unit by ensuring that work processes are implemented as designed, established standards and procedures are complied with and employees are motivated and understand what is expected of them in order to achieve high performance standards, and meet established targets.
* Monitor and oversee the initiation of new projects and processes and tailor modules for financial reporting.
* Ensure the issuance and coordinate the review of the monthly trial balance. The review would include accounts analysis, identification of disrcepancies, follow-up requests and initiation of corrective actions.
* Maintain the General Ledger in order to ensure that it is in accordance with international financial standards.
* Control all postings from subsidiary ledgers such as accounts payable, fixed assets and payroll.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree (master's degree highly desirable)
* Professional Qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or CAT
* 10 years, with experience in General Ledger management and preparation of financial statements - 5 of which are in a managerial role
