Manager Freighter Performance - Qatar Airways - Doha

As an integral part of the QR Cargo Management team, you will be responsible for management of Freighter airside/ramp operations, ensuring that standards conform to safety, regulatory and operational standards. You will implement corrective actions and awareness of ramp safety and performance incidents across the freighter network. You will also be responsible for continuous review of loadmaster trainings and conduct periodic assessments.

Other responsibilities include:
- Ensure all ramp side operations at the hub, and across the freighter network stations, meet QR standards and procedures.
- Ensure all GHA staff perform their duties in strict adherence to safety and security standards.
- Record and investigate deviations from the company standards and ensure corrective action is proposed, including providing feedback to the training department for future learnings.
- Manage operational KPI’s focusing on OTP, weight/volume utilization and FAP.
- Providing direction and drive initiatives aimed at improving ramp handling standards, utilizing industry best practices.
- Driving daily operational hub meetings involving QAS and QR ramp staff, to communicate and share information on operation procedural updates, ramp and cargo alerts and schedule disruptions.
- Promoting safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings or meeting with individual staff or teams.
- Work closely with the training departments to ensure best practices are included in the training materials for QR and GHA staff.
- Ensure loadmaster training and materials are up to date and relevant to the reality on the ground.
- Coordinate with the training department periodic assessments of loadmasters to ensure knowledge and understanding is kept updated.
- Work closely with the Manager Freighter Network Operations, to ensure GHA’s across the network get a clear direction on standards and policies from QR regarding ramp operations.
- Develop IT solutions, mobile and desktop, to improve visibility of the operation and allow live information to be fed back to the operational teams.

Requirements

You will have a minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent thereof and a valid Weight and Balance license for freighters with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing the freighter ramp handling operations, complimented with cargo warehouse operations knowledge and expertise within the Airline Cargo industry.

Any former experience as Airside Operations Manager or Ramp Procedures Manager and experience in wide body freighters operation at a major hub is preferred.

Managerial skills are essential as well as exceptional communication and decision making within a multicultural environment. You will also need to have thorough knowledge and understanding of IATA regulations, DGR and AVI as well as loadmaster experience.
