Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

In this role you will be responsible for managing the Fuel Operations Control Centre (OCC) team, who will be working on a shift basis. You will be responsible for advising and covering for the team during times of operational disruption, undertaking sourcing research for new routed and deputising for the Senior Manager.

Key responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for managing the Fuel OCC (Operations Control Centre) - 3 x members of staff operating 7 days per week handling fuel requests for Qatar Amiri Flight, Qatar Executive Jet, QR Cargo and QR to maintain operational effectiveness.
- Manage the timely update of business finance and operational databases with correct pricing data: Enables Fuel Optimization team to plan tankering, updates Finance accruals, enables timely payment of fuel invoices via Accounts Payable.
- On call for ad-hoc diversions and fuel shortages, using market knowledge and the Fuel OCC team to source alternative solutions to minimise operational delays and commercial impact.
- Proactively engage with fuel suppliers to identify supply issues and provide solutions to support and maintain a stable 24/7 operation.
- Support fuel procurement team in research to provide effective pricing and management information in support of new route business cases to accurately identify route costs.
- Assist in the development of an effective Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programme and support delivery of programme with agreed suppliers. SRM should identify cost saving and cost efficiencies through closer relationship with suppliers
- Manage the integration of additional suppliers to the IATA standard fuel invoicing protocol, reducing manual intervention in invoice clearance and increasing accuracy.
- Support the integration of new fuel management systems into the department to enable more effective contract management, accessibility to Management Information and reporting.
- Establish the team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
- Challenge and evaluate the teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Requirements

You will have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Business, Procurement or other finance qualification with a minimum of 7 years of job-related experience.

In addition to this, you will have the following attributes:
- People management experience.
- Experience in planning and undertaking a range of negotiations using a variety of styles and delivery.
- Experience in fuel procurement is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
- Ability to delegate and manage deadlines.
