Employment: Full Time

Manager Insurance - Qatar Airways - Doha

You will be responsible for all Non Marine Insurance matters within the Group and for providing high-level contract and supply expertise along with cost containment and effective process management.

Moreover, you will be responsible for providing specific transaction consultation, professional guidance on drafting RFPs, and assistance in interpretation of contract language, administration, policies and procedures.

You will also be responsible to achieve the best Insurance coverage availability by negotiating with Insurance Companies and Brokers to obtain the lowest premium available.

To be aware of the Insurance Products available in the Insurance Market by keeping in contact with the Insurers. Thereby potentially reducing QR Group of Companies exposure. To Evaluate Policy Conditions with Insurers to ensure the payment of claims, when they arise.

In addition to that, you will develop relationships with current key suppliers in order to become the customer of choice. To provide specialist knowledge and expertise obtained from Insurers/Brokers to managers on all aspects of Insurance, thereby increasing the Junior Employees level of Insurance knowledge.

And, assist Group Insurance Department in data collection, communications with Insurance suppliers, market research and compiling information. Present savings analysis and total cost of Claims in order to continuously identify improvement opportunities.

You will be responsible for Training and developing other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management. Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program. Train Qatari staff in the duties above.

Take responsibility for own on-going personal development and growth of expertise. Plus, Mentoring and coaching Insurance Department staff in order for them to transition to contract administration and procurement relationship management. Establish the department or team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.

Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures, and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed. Evaluate workload, assignments and process for optimisation and promotion of effective and efficient procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need to be Bachelor Degree, preferred in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a combination of all or Higher Diploma or Masters is preferred.

You will have a minimum of 8 years job related working experience, At working in local, international and cross-functional project teams, advanced knowledge and understanding of all aspects of international claims and insurance issues.

Preference will be given to those who have minimum of 10 years Executive Management job related experience.

Must have broad experience and good perception with excellent understanding of Insurance coverage’s purchased, Extensive and demonstrated professional knowledge of supply chain management. Advanced knowledge of purchasing principles, practices, methods and procedures used in competitive procurement.

Ability to work within tight time frames, Extensive experience in researching, developing, negotiating and preparing complex contractual specifications and agreements. Proven influential and consultative approach, solution focus, and strong negotiation skills will be paramount.
