Within the mission vision and values of HMC and the Department of Medical Administration,the incumbent is responsible for assisting the Asst Medical Director for Medical staff affairs in facilitating medical staff credentialing, privileging, recruitment and operational processes and assists the medical staff in supporting the organizations mission, vision and goals.

Responsibilities
- Manage the affairs of the Medical Staff Office which primarily includes credentialing and re-credentialing of the entire Medical staff including potential new recruits locum physicians, visiting consultants, etc. This function encourages not only the compilation, verification and processing of objective data about education,qualifications and experience but must include dynamic data (such as CMEactivities and the likes) which assures the medical staff to be up to date and practicing the highest quality medical care
- Facilitate the credentialing,privileging, recruitment and operational processes.
- Originates (or collects) and maintains appropriate records on all medical staff.
- Administers and maintains the Credentialing & Privileging database
- Coordinates with HIS regarding Medical Administration website updates/maintenance
- Provides administrative support in the selection process for medical staff leadership.
- Maintains documentation of continuing medical staff education.
- Provide administrative support and assistance to medical staff committees
- Originates and maintains agendas, minutes, and post meeting correspondence for medical staff committees.
- Prepares credentialing reports and action items for the credentialing committee, medical board and board of trustees
- Composes and disseminates correspondence from the board to the medical staff leadership and to the rest of the medical staff in so far as decisions related to credentialing privileges and special requests.
- Develops and implements systems which allow for the flow of information to and from medical staff committees, department chairperson and the entire medical staff membership.
- Maintains and generates performance related data for medical staff members by coordinating information from individual clinical departments and data affregated in quality management and other related departments (Physician activity profiling)
- Assists in developing objectives for the medical staff office in concert with the organizations strategic plan.
- Stays abreast of and applies knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and accreditation standards. MSO staff must be kept abreast of all JCI updated standards and or other institutional requirements.
- Arranges the medical staff meetings and appropriate continuing education
- Performs other tasks as requested by the Medical Director and Asst. Medical Director.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree
- Preferred: Masters degree in health administration or equivalent
- Minimum: 3-5 years experience in administration/project management or equivalent
- Preferred: previous 3 years experience in credentialing process.
- Proficient in English
- Proficient in computer applications ( medical staff database,windows, MS office etc.)

- Ability to execute the job responsibilities independently with minimum supervision and ability to make initiatives and work decisions
